The Warehouse Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating transportation, storage, Inventory and distribution activities. This critical role ensures compliance with organizational policies, government regulations, and safety standards, while optimizing warehouse operations to meet customer needs. The Warehouse Manager leads a team of employees, oversees shipping and receiving, manages inventory accuracy, and maintains facility cleanliness and security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Management:
- Direct daily activities of over 20 employees, including supervisors, material handlers, shippers, and receivers.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure cross-training of personnel.
- Shipping and Receiving Management:
- Manage all aspects of shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of orders.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and perform regular audits to reconcile discrepancies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Execute safety initiatives, including safety committee participation, forklift safety, and OSHA procedures.
- Implement warehouse policies and procedures consistently to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Schedule deliveries to multiple locations daily. Assign drivers to routes and appropriate trucks.
- Oversee distribution and logistics activities, truck load, LTL, and contracted delivery services.
- Identify and address sales or purchasing issues to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain warehouse facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and security.
- Schedule and oversee maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure optimal functionality.
- Customer Service:
- Foster a customer service-oriented culture, providing support to internal sales personnel and end customers.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Leadership and Communication:
- Promote good morale and a positive attitude among team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Operations, General Manager, and other employees to address issues and drive improvement initiatives.
COMPETENCIES:
- Availability to work varying shifts, including weekends, as needed to ensure timely project completion.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 55lbs and operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills, with experience motivating and directing staff.
- Familiarity with warehouse systems, document imaging, and ERP systems.
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving functions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift 55 pounds.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Bend or twist body.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Prefer CDL Class A License
- 3-5 years of experience in distribution management.
- Proven track record of improving productivity and efficiency in a distribution facility.
- Clean driving record and ability to be insured for delivery vehicles.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent military or practical experience.
